Gwen Stefani, an American recording artist and fashion designer, was born on October 3, 1969 in Fullerton, California. Gwen is the daughter of Patti, who worked as an accountant before becoming a homemaker, and her father, Dennis Stefani works as a marketing executive for Yamaha. Gwen is of Irish, Scottish, and Italian descent. Her siblings are Jill Stefani, Todd, and Eric.
During a talent show at Loara High School, Gwen Stefani made her onstage debut where she sang "I Have Confidence," from the Sound of Music. Eric, her brother, who played the keyboard for the band, introduced her to 2 Tone music and in 1986 he invited her to provide vocals for No Doubt. In 1991, the band was signed to Interscope Records. No Doubt's third album, Tragic Kingdom (1995), was a success, selling 16 million copies worldwide. In 2004-2008, Gwen began her solo career, with two successful solo albums, Love. Angel. Music. Baby. (2004), and The Sweet Escape (2006).
Stefani has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and won the World's Best-Selling New Female Artist at the World Music Awards 2005. In 2003. Stefani created a clothing line L.A.M.B. along with the Harajuku Lovers line inspired by the Japanese culture. In 2004, Gwen Stefani made her debut playing Jean Harlow in The Aviator and was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by Cast in Motion Picture.
