Keanu Charles Reeves, a Canadian actor, was born on September 2, 1964 in Beirut, Lebanon. His mother, Patricia Bond, who is English, is a costume designer/performer, and Samuel Nowlin Reeves, Jr., a geologist. His father is a Hawaii-born American of English, Irish, Portuguese, Chinese, and Hawaiian descent.
At the age of nine, Reeves began his acting career appearing in a theater production of Damn Yankees. He played Mercutio in a stage production of Romeo and Juliet at the Leah Posluns Theatre when he was fifteen. In the early 1980's, he appeared in commercials including one for Coca-Cola. Reeves made his screen acting debut in a CBC Television comedy series Hangin'In. Reeves' first studio movie appearance was in the film Youngblood.

Reeves received the MTV Movie Award for Most Desirable Male in Point Break.
