Kristen Jaymes Stewart, an American actress, was born on April 9, 1990 in Los Angeles. Her mother, Jules Mann-Stewart, is a script supervisor, who is from Maroochydore, Queensland, Australia. Her father, John Stewart, is a stage manager and television producer who has worked for Fox. She has an older brother, Cameron Stewart.
At the age of eight, Stewart was noticed by an agent who saw her perform in her elementary school's Christmas play. Following the play, Stewart decided to start a career in acting. Stewart's first film was a nonspeaking part in the movie The Thirteenth Year (1999). Stewart received wide recognition for her role in the film Panic Room (2002).
