Milla Jovovich





Milla Jovovich, an American model, actress, musician, and fashion designer, was born on December 17, 1975 in Kiev, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union. Her mother, Galina Mikhaylovna Loginova, a Russian stage actress and her father Bogdan Bogdanoviĉ Jovoviĉ, a Serbian pediatrician. Milla has a half-brother Marco Jovovich. Jovovich can speak Russian, Serbian and English fluently, and a some French.

At the age of nine, she began going to modeling auditions. Gene Lemuel, photographer and poet, discovered Jovovich. He shot her first test photos and later he showed them to Herb Ritts in LA. Ritts booked her for the cover of Lei, an Italian magazine. In 1988, Jovovich made her first professional model contract. Later, she made it to the cover of The Face, an others including Seventeen, Mademoiselle, Glamour, InStyle and Harper's Bazaar. Since 1998, Jovovich has been an international spokesmodel for L'Oréal cosmetics. In 1988, Jovovich had begun working on a music album, and was signed by SBK Records. The "Divine Comedy" was Jovovich's first and only official studio album. The People Tree Sessions, was recorded by David Turin and Milla Jovovich, which was released in 1988.

Jovovich has provided songs to several of her film soundtracks, including The Million Dollar Hotel (2000) and Dummy (2002). She provided songs for the movie Underworld (2003). Jovovich and fellow model Carmen Hawk launched a line of clothing called Jovovich-Hawk in 2003, but decided to end the business due to increased demands on their time. Milla Jovovich also has her own production company, Creature Entertainment. In 2005, Jovovich established a charitable foundation to help Ukrainian children.

Milla Jovovich has starred in many films such as Two Moon Junction (1988), The Fifth Element (1997), The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc Joan of Arc (1999), The Million Dollar Hotel (2001), Resident Evil (2002), Dummy (2003), Ultraviolet (2006), .45 (2007), Perfect Getaway (2009), and Dirty Girl (2010). Jovovich has starred in the television shows: The Night Train to Kathmandu, Paradise, Married with Children, Parker Lewis Can't Lose, and King Of The Hill.

In 2004, Jovovich topped Forbes magazine's "Richest Supermodels of the World" list, earning a reported $10.5 million. In 2006, Jovovich was chosen by the Spanish clothing line Mango as their new spokesmodel. Jovovich has been nominated for numerous awards. In 1992, she was nominated for Young Artist Best Young Actress for her role in Return to the Blue Lagoon. In 1997, she was nominated for the Saturn Best Supporting Actress award, the Blockbuster Entertainment Favorite Newcomer Award, the MTV Movie Best Fight Scene Award for her role as Lee-Loo in The Fifth Element. In 2002, Jovovich received a nomination for the Saturn Best Actress Award for her role as Alice in Resident Evil and won Best Actress in a sci-fi/action film for Resident Evil: Extinction from the Scream Awards in 2008.

Milla Jovovich has been romantically involved with Jamiroquai, Mario Sorrenti, Anno Birkin, and John Frusciante. Jovovich was married to The Fifth Element director Luc Besson from 1988 to 1999. Also, she married Shawn Andrews, her on-screen boyfriend, while filming Dazed and Confused in 1992. Today, Milla Jovovich is married to film writer and director Paul W. S. Anderson, whom she married on 22 August 2009. Jovovich and Anderson have a daughter, Ever Gabo Anderson, who was born on November 3, 2007.
